Colour Stripe

Brief:

Produce a gouache colour stripe that creates the atmosphere you would like your
collection to have. You will use a found image (such as a postcard of a painting
as your starting point) Colour should be accurately mixed and proportion and
arrangement of colour should be carefully considered.

Yet another colour stripe! For this task, I chose an image by Rex Ray because I love the variety and texture of colours in his work. Getting all the different shades right was a difficult task but I loved mixing colours and watching my stripe come to life! At the start I wasn't too keep on using gouache paint but now I am starting to grow a liking for it and would love to use it more often in my work. I think this is a great practice for keeping records of different colour schemes which could then be used in my future work, therefore I have decided to try do one stripe each week for my own use.

Artist: Rex Ray

I think I need more practice on getting the proportions right, however the colours are quite accurate. All my future work for this project will reflect this colour mood.
