Susan Durges
After presenting my photographic research and an analysis study in today's tutorial to my group and tutors, I was told to look at Susan Durge's photographs of miniature water droplets which show shrunken reflections of a face. This body of work is called "Eden", containing photographs with beautiful and delicate compositions. Durges focuses on the simplicity of water that she photographs and how one single movement can change the path of the water. This work has inspired me to create some work based on distortion of facial features, which links to my initial theme of Changing Identities. Although it is very different from my initial idea of dressing up and giving myself multiple identities, I think it is a more interesting way of developing my work further which would eventually lead on to a more conceptual outcome.
