Lucienne Day - Context

Lucienne Day is one of my favourite designers of all time. She was a British interior designer of 50s and popular for her innovative wallpaper designs. I am particularly inspired by her use of line and composition which contribute to the simplicity and attractiveness of the designs.

In my machine samples, I will be exploring line, mark making and composition which are also seen in Day's work. My potential context for all the embroidery samples is interior as I have used a lot of materials that could be used in interior designing such as silk, pure cotton, velvet etc.
