A walk around Manchester City Centre...

For Easter, we are given the task of various ways of drawing/imaging and recording the idea.
Craving for inspiration, I decided to take a walk around Manchester with my camera and documented anything that interested me.

A rather mysterious out-of-use car park (left).
A vintage door. The Victorian design of it reminds me of the door Alice walked through to enter The Wonderland (right).

Manchester Art Gallery

As I was entering the Manchester Art Gallery, I saw this installation of natural objects by Raqib Shaw. This zoomed in picture of seed pots reminds me of the scene where Alice looks down a rabbit hole. I think it would be interesting to create some collages of these pictures in Photoshop which can influence my final outcome.

This is quite a theatrical installation of a doll in a forest, 3D replica of a painting by Marion Adnams. The whole setting of it is very sinister, almost like the sceneries in Alice in Wonderland. By looking at the dates, it seems that the painting was created a century after Alice in Wonderland was written, so perhaps this was where the artist got his inspiration from.
The image on the right is of a sculpture made from broken cutlery. It immediately reminded me of the famous tea party in the story with Mad Hatter and his companion throwing and smashing the cups and plates.
