Cosmetic surgery addict injected cooking oil into her face

Only recently I found this article on a Korean woman, Hang Mioku, who was obsessed with silicone injections because she wanted 'soft' skin. After having a few surgeries, doctors told her that she had psychological issues and refused further treatment. Being obsessed with changing her natural looks, she injected cooking oil into her face, leaving it severely swollen and scarred.

Before the treatments when she was still naturally beautiful.

After the incident.

This is a typical example of people obsessed with changing their identity, or being forced to do so by the society. Or perhaps it was all down to her having psychological issues. Due to the statistics 43,127 procedures were carried out in 2012 in UK. This is a result of people constantly wanting to change how they look in order to 'fit in' and trying to look as 'perfect' as the celebrities they see on television, who undergo surgery in order to avoid the effects of ageing, altering the appearance of their stomach, breasts or other parts of their body.
